Hola RNC. ¿Necesitan un traductor?
September 30, 2009
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Republican National Committee (RNC) has a new video out celebrating the many contributions of Hispanic-Americans. While I appreciate the RNC’s efforts to court Latinos, especially given my critque of their Latino outreach, this video is a bit…problematic. For starters, I didn’t realize the only Latinos to contribute to American culture were all Republicans! Next, who is the audience here? Is Steele talking TO Latinos or ABOUT Latinos? And if he is, indeed, talking TO Latinos, why is he talking ABOUT us to OURSELVES? It makes no sense. In fact, it makes almost as little sense as the Spanish version of the corresponding press release.

NOTE TO TEACHERS: May be used with Linda Chavez and Carlos Gutierrez also.
The worst part of that video – and I say this is a product of the NJ public school system – is that not one of those kids has a lick of talent.
You are my new role model! Thanks for your blog, I love it!
Thank God the majority of Cubans no the difference between Freedom and Socialism and vote Republican.
